How do we ensure compliance?

Precinct Reconciliation Rules CE (2).png

WHEN reporting precinct results THEN reconcile the number of tabulated votes, ballots, and registered voters.

The Supervisors of Elections (SOEs) shall collect and submit to the Department of State (DOS) precinct-level election results for a presidential preference primary election, special election, primary election, or general election in a uniform electronic format.

  • The report should be submitted within 30 days after certification by the Elections Canvassing Commission.

  • Each SOE shall reconcile, before submission, the aggregate total of ballots cast in each precinct as reported in the precinct-level election results to the aggregate total number of voters with voter history for the election for each district.

  • Each SOE shall submit the results of the data reconciliation to the DOS in an electronic format and give a written explanation for any precincts where the reconciliation results in a discrepancy between the voter history and the election results.

HOW DOES THE COMPLIANCE ENGINE ENSURE DATA INTEGRITY?

  • ALERTS the SOE if the reconciliation report is not submitted within a predefined timeline

  • ESCALATES to DOS personnel if the SOE has not submitted the reconciliation report within a predefined timeline

  • ENFORCES by holding SOE accountable if the reconciliation report is not submitted within a predefined timeline
