COMPLIANCE ENGINE RULES
MOTOR VOTER SCRUTINY
"The DHSMV shall provide the opportunity to register to vote or to update a voter registration record to each individual who comes to an office of that department for other official business."

Does the DHSMV communicate voter registration changes with Supervisors of Elections?
How do we ensure compliance?

WHEN the DHSMV notifies the SOE of a voter's address change THEN list maintenance activities must commence.
The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) must assist the Department of State (DOS) in regularly identifying changes in residence address on the drivers license or identification card of a voter.
-
The DOS must report each such change to the appropriate Supervisor of Elections (SOE).
-
The SOE must change the registration records to reflect the new address.
-
The SOE must send the voter an address change notice.
-
This notice must be sent to the newly recorded address of legal residence by forwardable mail, including a postage prepaid, preaddressed return form with which the voter may verify or correct the voter’s new address information.
HOW DOES THE COMPLIANCE ENGINE ENSURE DATA INTEGRITY?
-
ALERTS the SOE if voter's address was not changed and the voter was not sent an address change notice
-
ESCALATES to DOS personnel if the address was not changed and the notice was not sent within a predefined timeline
-
ENFORCES by holding the SOE accountable if the address was not changed and the notice was not sent within a predefined timeline
